SLASHFIC is a local DIY emo(ish) band living in AWESOMETOWN, CA . While they don't have very many recorded songs, they play many shows wherever they can. That being said, they still spend most of the time sitting at diners and talking.
▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ MARCY PEPPER ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄The emotional heart of the band. Lead vocalist and temporary bassist for SLASHFIC. Her raw, unpolished moxie brings a certain swag to the band that no one else can bring. Emo to the core, her pop punk hooks are as vulnerable as they are catchy. Has that 'X' factor you just can't learn at music school. Feels things very strongly. Impulsive and unrelenting, this pop punk girlthing will stop at nothing to hoist her and her friends to indie stardom. At night she dreams of going on tour. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ JEN CUNNINGHAM ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄Anxious mom friend. Professional multitasker. Rhythm guitarist, co-songwriter, singer, and digital drummer for slashfic. Also does most of the “behind the scenes” work that doesn’t involve playing music; like booking shows and producing their tracks. Using her trusty old laptop, she cleans up Marcy’s rough promising song ideas into bonafide DIY hits. Or, at least she WOULD if she could let herself finish a song! A perfectionist and a control freak, she tends to overextend herself, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. Is driven insane by the amount of time it takes to make things. Secretly prefers working at her computer to being onstage. ▀ INSTRUMENT: Rhythm guitar, vocals, and also all the behind the scenes management stuff nobody else wants to do. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ INEZ PAPRIKA ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄Wise seasoned veteran of the DIY scene. Lead guitarist for SLASHFIC. Also a competent drummer. The only classically trained musician in the band. A hired gun for many other DIY bands, but Slashfic is the first one that feels just like home. A few years ahead of Marcy and Jen, her experience in the scene is exactly what the band needs to center itself when the other two are lost in their own heads. Has enough experience to know what a gift it is to be in a band with people you actually want to spend this much time around. Been doing this long enough to appreciate the little things that other people might overlook. Likes music that makes her brain explode. Hopes to one day exclusively play for Slashfic full time. ▀ INSTRUMENT: Guitar. Chloe LaFleurAspiring hotshot music blogger and vinyl collector. Chloe appreciates the little things in life: coffee, cigarettes, the smirk of a woman, the look of her own face in the mirror, the shape of her own clothes, and the general way people seem to think she's just that slightest bit cooler than them. Has now set her sights on the band SLASHFIC and their lead singer Marcy Pepper. Knows about SLASHFIC’s scrapped unreleased debut album, and will not rest until she gets to the bottom of the mystery.
